CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION (CDCR): CITIZEN’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC) The purpose of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) is to establish and maintain community relations regarding issues involving local state prisons and the surrounding communities. The primary objectives of the CAC are to improve the public’s understanding of correctional programs, influence correctional directions and suggest means to improve and participate in inmate programming. The CAC includes representatives nominated for appointment by the local Assembly, Senator, City of Folsom Council, City of Folsom Chief of Police, County Board of Supervisors, and County Sheriff. There are TWO County of Sacramento CAC seats that will be filled by residents of the area. At the time of filing, all persons applying shall be required to submit an Applicant’s Statement containing no more than 200 words, which may be made public. Each appointed CAC member will go through an orientation process that will consist of meeting with the Wardens, inmates, employees; reviewing the community safety procedures; and touring each prison. Members shall serve a two-year term. The application filing period will be from 9/29/25 to 10/10/25 and will be considered by the Board of Supervisors on 10/21/25.
