COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION This commission is the hearing body for all items that are not within Community Planning Commission boundaries as well as countywide policy issues. It develops, maintains, considers and acts upon amendments to the general, specific and community plans. It also reviews and reports on the County Capital Improvement Program, plans of local agencies to construct major public works projects, and the acquisition and disposition of real property by the County and local agencies. Additionally, this commission serves as the Board of Zoning Appeals and hears matters relating to zoning regulations and matters arising from the Subdivision Map Act and the Sacramento County Code. There are THREE seats to be filled as follows: ONE due to the resignation of J. Raithel (District 4 nomination); and TWO due to the expiring terms of J. Devlin (District 2 nomination) and J. Borja (District 5 nomination); both of whom are eligible for reappointment upon receipt of a new application. FAIR OAKS COMMUNITY PLANNING ADVISORY COUNCIL The purpose of this council is to participate in the planning process and to review and propose community goals and objectives. This council is located entirely within the boundaries of the Third Supervisorial District. There are THREE seats to be filled by residents of the area as follows; ONE due to the resignation of C. Bowman; and TWO due to the expiring terms of D. Storo and C. Wood; both of whom are eligible for reappointment upon the receipt of a new application. Application filing period will be from 12/16/24 to 12/27/24 and will be considered by the Board of Supervisors on 1/7/25. FIRST 5 SACRAMENTO COMMISSION The purpose of this commission is to implement the goals and objectives of the California Children and Families First Act of 1998 and to administer monies in Sacramento County Children and Families First Trust Fund. This commission shall develop and administer local strategic plans that promote an integrated and comprehensive system of services to children from the prenatal stage through age five and their families. The plan may address the following: parental education and support services; availability and provision of high quality accessible and affordable child care; child health care programs emphasizing prevention and diagnostic screenings; and prenatal and postnatal maternal health care services. Qualifications - The Board of Supervisors shall appoint members of the Commission from among recipients of project services included in the County strategic plan; educators specializing in early childhood development; representatives of local child care resource or referral agencies; representatives of a local organization for prevention or early intervention for families at risk; representatives of community-based organizations with the purposes of promoting and nurturing early childhood development; representatives of local school districts; and, representatives of local medical, pediatric or obstetric associations or societies. Any member appointed to the Commission shall reside or work in Sacramento County at the time of appointment and for the duration of his/her term. Alternates shall meet the same criteria and qualifications as members appointed to the Commission. There is ONE seat to be filled due to the vacant seat of community alternate member S. Moak. Application filing period will be from 12/16/24 to 12/27/24 and will be considered by the Board of Supervisors on 1/7/25.
